On the occasion of the 2024 Paris Photo fair I had a morning to myself and used it to walk the center of Paris before the city awoke. This particular morning was dull and overcast. The result was a sequence of Paris images devoid of people, cars, with plain white skies. It helps to know that in the old days films were largely blue sensitive which is why in 19th century images the sky usually ended up plain white. This explains why my images lacking sky, people and cars, capturing only the historic elements of the city, have a definite old time feel.

On another night I snuck out again, and was able to repeat the exercise in the dark.

The Paris Photo 2024 took place at the grand palais, a wonderful structure in its own right but of course even more delightful with such a rich display of photographic efforts.

Last but not least was the Belle Époque Hotel, dating back to 1900, in the heart of the town. It would have offered many photographic subjects but there was just time for three quick shots.
